The Shibby

I have been hanging out in Busan, South Korea for the better part of a year. In that time I have experienced a whole lot of craziness...

Some Words of Wisdom

I've got a smile on my face, I've got four walls around me. The sun in the sky, the water surrounds me. I'll win now but sometimes I'll lose. I've been battered, but I'll never bruise, it's not so bad. And I say way-hey-hey, it's just an ordinary day, and it's all your state of mind. At the end of the day, you've still got to say, it's all right.

Day 2: After arriving at our hostel sleep deprived and hungry we found the beach, took a glorious swim, parked ourselves on some chairs and ordered breakfast. Upon returning from our swim we were greeted by a ship captain (or something) and he offered to take us for a tour on his boat. After a little bartering we convinced him to go on a tour of a reef where we could snorkel. So we set out on a real cool catamaran for the afternoon and anchored at a spot filled with wicked coral and a crazy amount of fish. Truthfully none of us had very high expectations for this reef but once we jumped in the water we were immediately greeted by 40,000 fish of 1000 different varieties. It was fantastic. After we set sail again we all sorta fell asleep on the boat and woke up with wicked burns all over our bodies. Thank god I applied sun screen to everywhere but my sides and legs otherwise I would have looked pretty goofy. At some point in the day we were walking down the beach with my deflated volleyball looking for an air compressor. Sam decided to ask the first person he saw and it turned out to be an Aussi that owned a few bars around the strip. He filled my ball for us and invited us back for some dinner. Sure enough we ate at his bar, had some drinks with the guy, and watched some live music. For the record, I believe that was the first live music I have seen in Asia thus far. We ventured to another bar along the strip that had short tables like in Korea but were surrounded by bean bags and once again, had another guy playing guitar. We spent the remainder of the night here enjoying the sounds, smell and feel of the beach in January.
