The Shibby

I have been hanging out in Busan, South Korea for the better part of a year. In that time I have experienced a whole lot of craziness...

Some Words of Wisdom

I've got a smile on my face, I've got four walls around me. The sun in the sky, the water surrounds me. I'll win now but sometimes I'll lose. I've been battered, but I'll never bruise, it's not so bad. And I say way-hey-hey, it's just an ordinary day, and it's all your state of mind. At the end of the day, you've still got to say, it's all right.

First off, I have to thank Josh for harassing me enough to finally sit down and write this thing. To be honest, my lack of initiative is not because nothing has happened in my life during the past two weeks, but in fact too much has been happening. The trouble with saying "too much has been happening" is that the things that have been going on are not entertaining. This is how it goes. This week report cards are due, so I have sacrificed my traditional 'slack and write a blog' time and filled it with "frantically evaluate students" time. This is not fun and I have found myself having a hard time staying subjective when it comes to dealing with some of my more troublesome students. This aside I have been working hard to help out Danielle who fresh off her bout with blindness has fallen victim to Tuberculosis. This girl has the WORST luck! On the positive side of things my week has been more inspirational than usual due in part to my new iPod which I managed to pick up for a lean 180,000 won (that's about $165.00 CAD). I have been enjoying it tremendously despite concerns that I have over the quality of the product. Its a well known fact that iPods generally do not last very long and it has been scientifically proven that Murphy's Law does apply to electronic purchases over $100 in value. Skepticism aside, all my friends and family who own iPods (99% of them) all tell me that it is the greatest purchase they have ever made. So that has been my week thus far. There are big plans in motion for the weekend, possibly hiking or going to a temple and outdoor spa where you sit in a pool and have fish eat the dead skin off your feet. Could be kinda freaky...

Slante!

Oh the other thing, our office got a new humidifier this week and guess what? It's shaped like a frog!
